Janssen-Cilag, a leading research-based pharmaceutical company and a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, is implementing an innovative reminding system that allows pharmacists to service their clients even after they walk out of the door.
Studies have indicated that correctly following medical advice, including drug compliance, contributes to accelerated recovery and improved living conditions. That is why Janssen-Cilag now supplements their medicine offerings for ADHD patients with a reminding service. Pharmacists can individually subscribe to this service and will then be granted access to ASK.Innovating to increase patient compliance
The ASK solution consists of providing reminding and information services that invoke increased customer awareness and loyalty and integrates the following 3 communication services:
- SMS messages or phone calls that remind patients to take their medicine;
- Phone/SMS reminding whenever patients need to refill their medication;
- E-mail newsletters & news bulletins that contain information on medication, new illnesses, and new remedies.
The additional services make the medicines offered by Janssen-Cilag more attractive for both pharmacists and patients. By means of these services, Janssen-Cilag is able to increase patient compliance. The solution is highly valuable given the current market situation. Moreover, by using ASK, Janssen-Cilag now is ahead of its competitors.
The system is targeted at all pharmacists and ADHD patients throughout the Netherlands. The implementation phase has started in June 2009. The project takes off with the development and testing of the system and will be taken into use after the summer holiday.
